The photographs were culled from labor negotiator William J. Usery, Jr.'s papers found at the Southern Labor Archives of Georgia State University's Special Collections. The images depict Usery's stint as a welder; his union-related activities as Special Representative (1954-1956) and Grand Lodge Representative (1956-1969) of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers; his governmental service to the United States Department of Labor; and work with his own firm Bill Usery Associates.
